Dr. Essam Dabbour is a professional engineer (P. Eng.) and designated as a consulting engineer by Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO). He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE), certified as a Road Safety Professional (RSP1), and certified in Ontario as a Road Safety Auditor.
Dr. Dabbour has a Ph.D. in Transportation Engineering obtained from Toronto Metropolitan University. Dr. Dabbour has over 35 years of experience in the design, construction, inspection, and maintenance of all road facilities. He has investigated more than 280 forensic engineering cases related to traffic accidents, slip and fall incidents, trip and fall incidents, and other incidents related to municipal liability and occupiers' liability. Given his in-depth expertise in municipal liability and occupiers' liability, Dr. Dabbour was selected by the Ontario Good Roads Association to teach two annual courses about municipal liability. More information about the two courses may be found in the Courses section.
Dr. Dabbour also published more than 60 articles in academic journals, refereed conference proceedings, and professional magazines.
